The Friends of the HRIC is a community group established to help secure the ongoing development and operation of the New Jersey Hispanic Research and Information Center (NJHRIC) at the Newark Public Library. The NJHRIC is an institution devoted to the rescue and preservation of the Latino historic legacy in the state of New Jersey. The Friends of the HRIC supports the work of the three components of the NJHRIC. The organization also sponsors events and activities that help increase awareness of the various Latino communities in New Jersey.
